Our 2019 Woman of Achievement is Pastor Donna Hubbard. Donna is an ordained minister, and holds credentials as a Preacher, Teacher, Pastor and Elder. During her formative years, Donna witnessed much abuse and domestic violence, which became an unfortunate and painful reality of her life as an adult. She experienced being sold to a pimp, trafficked, gang raped, and as a young woman became gang property. Her journey has been one of trials and traumas that could have easily destroyed her spirit and any hope of living a purpose filled life. But Donna’s determined faith helped her live through and past her pain to help others embrace purpose. She founded the “Woman at the Well” Transition Center with a focused mission to assist incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women re-enter society, women and girls negatively impacted by the criminal justice system, and victims of human trafficking recover from their traumas. PPR is honored to celebrate Pastor Hubbard as our 2019 woman of excellence!
Our Teen of Distinction is Ms. Kimata Thomas. Ms. Thomas is a senior at M. E. Stillwell School of the Arts in Jonesboro, GA, where is has worked diligently to achieve and maintain at 4.0 GPA. She is ranked number nine in her upcoming graduating class as she prepares to begin her collegiate journey at Clayton State University. She is very active in her school and community, participating in the Stillwell International Club; the BETA Club; the HL Community Connection; and “I Demonstrate Educated Beauty”, a mentorship organization. She is an active member of her church, Harvest Life, in Jonesboro, GA, under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastors Rob and Melissa Jones. In September 2018, Kimata was the victim of a tragic accident that almost took her life but did not touch her spirit. Conversely, it prompted a greater determination to soar into her place of destiny. PPR is privileged to honor Ms. Thomas as our 2019 female teen of excellence!
